I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last post. It has flown by.
What’s been going on?
Leveling Up Client Work
Over the past month, I’ve been heads down on a variety of client projects. For my client Zen Dog in Vancouver, I set up email sequences and added new blog content to keep their audience engaged. I also worked on creating graphics for an independent documentary project that’s been in the works for a while.
On the lead gen front, I imported contacts into a clinic CRM so we can start nurturing those connections for new business. And for my own product partnership, AnxyAid, I managed updates to the graphics for the Amazon listing, adding some sexier visuals to appeal to shoppers.
The Chaos of a Major Life Transition
Of course, the big event of the past month was our household move to a new home. This was a huge undertaking – the movers came on November 22nd to help pack everything up, then we spent the following week cleaning the old place and moving all the boxes and furniture over on November 25th. Setting up new suppliers, ordering and building furniture…. it’s a time-swallowing series of tasks!
It was an exhausting process, and honestly my health and fitness took a backseat during that time. But I’m determined to get back on track with a solid workout plan for the rest of this month. The transition has been bittersweet, leaving behind our home of 5 years, but I’m excited for this new chapter as we prepare for our baby’s arrival in March.

Business Developments Amidst the Chaos
Through all the craziness of the move, I still managed to make progress on my own ventures. I’ve been adding more content to the Empire Base website, and am currently setting up and training the AI chatbots to handle inquiries – I can’t wait to get that fully live.
I also worked on exporting data from our billing and service management systems into a format that integrates with our new CRM, so we can stay better connected with Empire Base customers.
On the US side, our partnership Pollux Technologies finally got the IRS approval we needed to move forward with some key next steps. It’s been a long wait, but now we can start ramping up the systems, automations, and billing to set ourselves up for big growth in the new year.
Gratitude Amid the Challenges
Through it all, I’m really grateful for the trust that our advertising agency client has continued to place in us. They reached out with a new animation and 3D visualization project, already underway, as well as inquiries about two other potential projects. I’m excited to dive into that work and see what else we can create together in the new year.

Navigating Pregnancy Challenges Alongside My Wife
On a personal note, my pregnant wife has had a tough time of it lately. The emotional and hormonal rollercoaster of pregnancy, combined with the stress of the house move, has taken a toll. She’s been feeling quite tired and overwhelmed at times.
The move itself also fell on the anniversary of her mother’s passing, which has understandably stirred up a lot of complex emotions for her. Throughout all of this, I’ve tried to be a steady, supportive presence by her side – helping however I can with the unpacking and setup of the new home, attending checkups with the midwife, and offering a listening ear when the stress feels like too much.
It’s been challenging, no doubt, but I’m grateful that we’re weathering this transition together. My main focus is ensuring my wife and our baby-to-be are as comfortable and cared for as possible. Everything else, the business tasks and projects, takes a backseat to supporting my family during this special time.
Overall, this past month has been an absolute whirlwind, but I feel like I’m in a strong position to enter the new year. The client work is flowing, the business developments are progressing, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.
